5 Coffee Spots to Try
Ah, the classic coffee shop…
A place to grab a delicious beverage, relax, and maybe even enjoy a pastry (or two!). Steuben County is home to so many amazing coffee shops. Much like our beloved wineries on Keuka Lake, it’s impossible to visit them all in just one trip. If you’re a fan of trying out coffee shops and finding your spot when you travel to a new destination, especially those underrated gems, you’ll want to be on the lookout for these five the next time you visit Steuben County.
Of course, this list is just a small sampling of the incredible coffee spots in the area, so consider these gems to get you started on your coffee-trying-adventure.
Park Café – Bath
Park Café is home to delicious coffees, chais, lattes, and more amazing drinks. With a trendy, Instagrammable atmosphere and an extensive menu (we’ll get to that in a second), Park Café is the perfect place for a hangout session with good vibes, good drinks, and good eats.
Now, for the food, Park Café doesn’t JUST have a great selection of beverages. They also have their very own scratch bakery and kitchen. Feeling sweet? Grab one of their signature desserts like their cheesecake cone (yes, you heard that right!) or a French macaron.
Feeling savory? Head over at lunchtime and check out what’s on the menu. From specials like French dips to prosciutto pizza, you never know what the daily special might be, but you do know it’ll be absolutely delectable.
The Classy Café and Deli – Hornell
Found on the historic Main Street in Hornell, you’ll discover The Classy Café and Deli, a charming spot with amazing offerings that will put your decision-making skills to the test! Start your morning with a cup of joe, glance at the charming decorations, read your book, watch the television in the café, or do whatever you need to relax and start your day off right!
While you’re sipping your coffee and enjoying your morning, you might get a little hungry— or maybe you showed up hungry! At the Classy Café, the menu features a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. The signature sandwich is “The Wes,” a delicious sandwich with one egg cooked to perfection, steak, gooey American cheese, mayo, and a sprinkle of special house seasoning, all served on a hard roll. Umm, did someone say, “perfect combo”?!
Or, if you’re feeling a bit sweet, go for a stack of pancakes. The Explore Steuben team would be lying if we said we didn’t scarf down a short stack the last time we went to Classy Café, but you won’t judge us, right??
Babes Bagels & Beans – Corning
What if we told you that you could enjoy authentic New York City bagels right in Corning? That’s right! Brand new to Market Street, Babes Bagels & Beans offers a selection of delicious drinks, and of course, bagels. They bring in fresh bagels from New York City every week, so you can enjoy a classic NYC bagel paired with your favorite coffee. It’s the perfect morning combo!
Their coffee offerings include signature lattes, featuring flavors like caramel swirl and toasted s’more. If you’re in the mood for tea, they offer both hot and iced options. And don’t forget about their delicious fruit smoothies — the perfect refreshing treat on a hot day!
The Last Stand – Painted Post
Located off Victory Highway in Painted Post, The Last Stand is the perfect stop if you’re in the mood for a coffee spot with a TON of options.
They’ve got you covered with classic coffee favorites like cold brews, Americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos. But if you’re feeling a little wild, try one of their more unique offerings like infused energy drinks, or even build your own soda. Yes, you heard that right. Choose your base drink (Coke, Sprite, etc.) and add a mix-in flavor. Flavors range from classics like cherry and vanilla, to fun, quirky ones like lavender and cake batter.
So the real issue is… how will you choose??
P.S. They also have breakfast, milkshakes, and ice cream… yeah. We’ll see you there.
Bonus: Market Street Coffee and Tea – Corning
Interested in taking home some coffee beans from around the world? This is the place to shop! Try Costa Rican Tarrazu Dota, featuring beans grown in the high-altitude regions of Costa Rica, or the Ethiopian Natural Yirgacheffe, which is known for its unique floral aroma and taste.
If you’re a tea lover, shop teas such as chocolate mint black tea, tropical green tea, Earl Grey and black chai.
Oh, and did we mention you can also find a selection of cookies and chocolate-covered espresso beans?? YUM!
Service Station FLX – Hammondsport
Service Station FLX in Hammondsport is a true comfort spot for coffee lovers, cyclists, and coffee-loving cyclists alike. This cycling-themed coffee house roasts its own beans in-house, making every cup as fresh as it gets.
The Service Station offers plenty of seating for you and your crew to chill while enjoying your brew (see what we did there?). Sip your drink, enjoy some light bites, and don’t forget to check out the selection of Service Station Coffee merchandise on your way out—they’ve got hats, shirts, and even handmade ceramic espresso cups.
